Here for the experience, not a big fan of pork. The restaurant is very old, staff is super friendly. We ordered melon and Ham, the baby pork, one salad. Overall experience is good!
It’s one of the worlds oldest restaurants and it’s been open since 1725 for a reason. The whole experience is amazing from the old world decor to the authentic food. Everything was delicious and the staff where friendly and polite - you have to go at least once and I’m glad I went!
This place was huge, shockingly huge! And with a line to match. I would definitely assume you’ll need a reservation to get in here. Recognized as the oldest restaurant in the world, everything from the antique paintings on the walls to the heartily large portions gives you feelings of older times. As big as this restaurant is (multiple floors) they still manage to pack people in very tightly. The type of close where sliding your chair away from the table to stand up takes extra thought. We found the food to be good, but very salty. The portions were incredibly large and I wouldn’t expect that everyone is able to finish their meals here. My leg of lamb was so big that it laid overtop of the plate, hanging off of both sides. Even the bread for the table, which is quite common at many restaurants, was a full loaf per person. But l this simple and rustic plating that eluded to its historic past.
