Museo Lázaro Galdiano, located at the heart of Madrid, is a perfect destination for culture and art lovers. This museum houses an impressive collection of artworks, from the Middle Ages to the 20th century.

The museum was originally the private collection of José Lázaro Galdiano, a Spanish financier and bibliophile. After his death in 1947, the museum was opened to the public, and it has been a major attraction in Madrid ever since.

The museum is divided into two sections: the permanent collections, and the temporary exhibitions. The permanent collections are divided into several sections, including Spanish and European painting, sculpture, decorative arts, coins and medals, and prints. Among the highlights of the permanent collections are the works of El Greco, Goya, Velázquez and Murillo, as well as the collection of Spanish coins and medals.

The temporary exhibitions are also quite interesting, featuring works from renowned artists such as Picasso, Dalí, Miró, and many others.

Visitors to the Museo Lázaro Galdiano can also take advantage of the museum's library, which contains over 60,000 volumes, including rare books and manuscripts. There is also a café and a shop, where visitors can purchase souvenirs and books related to the museum's collections.

The museum is a great place to visit for anyone interested in art, culture, and history. With its impressive collections and temporary exhibitions, the Museo Lázaro Galdiano is sure to be an unforgettable experience.

Nice museum spread over 4 floors (there is an elevator by the way). It took us a little big over 1.5 h to see the exhibitions (paintings, jewelery collections, ceiling paintings, antique household items, modern art pieces). A full price ticket if you are not eligible to any discount costs €7. It seems to me that the entrance is free the last hour before end of business. A couple of famous paintings (at least 1 of Goya's) are on loan until the end of January 2022 so you won't be able to see them.

7€ entry for adults. Very good museum, a wonderful collection of paintings, jewellery, armour, tapestry, brass and more. Also, there is an adorable ginger cat that sits outside and welcomes the visitors.

Intimate museum in the collector’s home. You can get up close with pieces by Goya and Bosch without the crowds. Hidden gem in Madrid.
