WOW! What a total shock this was! We came here as a recommendation from a local for the fried cod. I was not sure what to expect since this cod had been salted/dried in the traditional manner in Spain and Portugal. My wife and I were totally shocked on how good it was! They reconstitute it in water for a period of time before deep frying. It tasted as good as any fresh cod we have ever had. The beer selection was also good and the service very friendly. What a great memory from Spain.

Absolutely No.1 delicious meal in Madrid. It is cheap and delicious. The fried fish is super good, don’t need to order others. Please do not miss this if you are around Sol.

Hidden off the main streets of the bustling shopping in the area is what looks like a hole in the wall, but one you want to for sure enter! A well-known beer and tapas joint, it’s perfect to stop and enjoy a couple of cold pints with fried cod (essentially fish minus the chips), croquettes and other local fare. Don’t be shy, as the service is used to locals, and you have to make the effort to walk up and order at the bar. Salud!
