Your Role at Guidesty

Here’s what you can expect from your day-to-day journey with us:

  • Collaborate with product teams, project managers, designers, and fellow engineers to refine and expand Guidesty's features and functionalities.
  • Take on significant technical projects that focus on scalability, stability enhancement, reducing technical debt, and overall platform improvement.
  • Develop and maintain our main API and related services, ensuring robust support for our web-based applications globally.
  • Enhance our development process through effective code reviews, optimized meetings, and proficient asynchronous communication.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to prioritize tasks, align with quarterly and annual goals, and elevate the developer experience under the guidance of our Tech Lead.

What You Bring to the Team

Skills and experience you’ll need:

  • At least 7+ years in developing complex backend systems for web platforms, with strong expertise in Python and familiarity with additional languages such as Ruby or Go.
  • Deep knowledge in relational databases (we use PostgreSQL), messaging queues (e.g., Celery, RabbitMQ), and asynchronous programming.
  • A thorough understanding of the web stack.
  • A pragmatic problem-solving approach, adept at quick fixes and long-term solutions.
  • A team player mindset, valuing collaboration over competition.
  • Fluent in English, both in written and spoken communication.

Bonus points for:

  • Experience with FastAPI.
  • Experience managing AWS stacks.
