Typical Alsatian restaurant very close to the city center. We went on a Saturday night and it was extremely busy but the service was still good. The only disappointment we had was that we were seated on the third floor in a back corner next to a cabinet. The first and second floors had a lot of ambience that the third floor sadly missed.
Very charming restaurant serving authentic Alsatian cuisine. This was my first time trying Alsatian food and it's not really for me. However, we enjoyed our meal at Chez Yvonne. Very friendly and helpful staff. The two ladies made us feel welcomed and helped us navigate the menu. My wife is allergic to eggs so they were able to check with the chef to see which items to avoid. We decided on the pork cheeks with a pinot noir sauce served with a side of Spaetzels. We also ordered the Alsatian Salad and their assorted vegetables. The pork was delicious and went nicely with the Spaetzels. The assorted vegetables were delightfully tart. The Alsatian Salad was our least favorite, but we had to give it a try. All in all, we were glad to have experienced a meal at Chez Yvonne.
This place was on every must go list for Strasbourg, not only because of the food but also because of how long it has been operating. The building is beautiful, and it is always very busy, so reservations are a must well in advance. The food was excellent, the escargot was exquisite (it melted in your mouth and very flavorful), the Riesling coq au vin was delicious and amazing deserts. A must while in Strasbourg.
