For our anniversary this restaurant was our celebration. We decided on a scallop dish and a duck dish. Both very tasty. The service was pleasant. They had an English translation of the menu which was appreciated. The wine choice provided a smooth tasting red. We had a nice table by the window and could enjoy the evening harbor views.

One of the best (and definitely value-worthy) restaurants to enjoy the traditional Marseillaise dish, Boullabaisse! Located in a small scenic port south of the city centre, Chez Fonfon provides a luxurious atmosphere combined with personalized service and excellent waitors! Fluent in English, they were willing to explain all dishes and types of fish for us. Their service was impeccable. Regarding the food, all the fish and seafood were so fresh (caught the same day), excellently cooked by the chefs, providing a great French food tasting experience! I would totally recommend the Boullabaisse (check the photos), which comes with a tasty appetizer, sauces, endless soup and 5 different types of fish! A totally enjoyable and memorable experience for us to have dined in this restaurant! 5☆!!!

A nice restaurant that serves fresh fish and good meat. My husband made reservation online for lunch on a weekday. It was the first week of September so I think it wasn’t too crowded yet. We ordered fish tartar, fish soup and grilled veal. They were all delicious. I particularly enjoyed my fish tartar (tartare de loup). It was well seasoning, and the eatable flowers added the pleasure to the eyes. The restaurant is a bit pricy, which I can understand, because all ingredients are fresh. The view of the port, boats and the famous bridge during lunch time is a bonus and another good reason to eat and drink here. It’s a restaurant I will come back again whenever I am in Marseilles.
